Dear All with concerns about children when visiting Amma ~ when I was still in Washington, DC, I experienced all the things Virginia mentioned ~ children very welcome, people wandering about during darshan to go to the bookstore or chat with friends, people and children dancing during bhajan singing, the plays or singing or dancing done by children for Amma, etc. The DC Tour group also had daycare on site the entire time, and children loved to go there where they could really play, color, etc. If you have ever seen any pictures of Amma with children, you would know She would be the first to welcome them. Of course, parents use discretion, and if Amma is talking or if there is puja going on, and a child is crying or throwing a tantrum or something like that, one parent will take the child outside of the hall until (s)he quiets down. Although, I have seen very few occasions where this was even a problem. Amma has a way of drawing children into her bhava.
