Here it is Vijayadasami, and I was feeling such negative energy while meditating...I decided to go up to the hills to walk...and to chant. I get off the bus, start walking and chanting on the land, calling to Devi. After a very short while I meet up with two women. We greet each other, and I ask one about the furled-up banner she is carrying. She opens it and it is a sun flag, turns out they are carrying it around Berkeley for the very holiday of Durga I am observing, and on behalf of world peace are bearing it to different places. We laugh together in delight that we met, and astonishment. I start singing the chorus to Mahishasuramardini stotram, which is all i know, and we dance a bit, and then walk our separate ways. Dear Max, What a wonderful story; what marvelous synchronicity! There are times when I feel so strongly that someone should be collecting some of these stories, musings, posts about prayers answered ... for what I don't know ~ a book, for "Immortal Bliss," etc. But I feel it very strongly. I have been saving notes about answered prayers (which, by the way, I would not share with anyone else, even Amma, without asking permission first). But I wonder if I should be saving some of this other wonderful writing. What do you folks think? Jai Jai Ma ~ Linda "Life is a circle; it goes 'round and 'round.
