I'm guessing this is one of those occasions where someone is taking even the smallest comment or implied desire of Amma's and communicated it as an official guru-dictation, or it evolved into that through the telephone-game effect. All these years Amma has generally down-played TV and movies for sadhaks. Myself, I chose movies and shows with themes of Devotion or Dharma, to keep myself motivated (I can post a list if anyone's interested). I've also found it helpful because I rarely dream, and I heard somewhere that our brain interprets movies and dreams the same way. I receive several short films and one feature length film each month (on DVD). One of their selections was Fierce Grace by Ram Dass. They also had a full length film on Ayurveda. In general I prefer the short films. Some of them are excellent. They are made by a global mix of film makers. I love the Indian and Thai films and the European (Swedish, Finnish) films about children.
