"President Bush said to all of us: 'I'm driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, "George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan." And I did, and then God would tell me, "George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq." And I did. And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, "Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East." And by God I'm gonna do it,'" Shaath told the BBC... Dear Eric ~ I know this is a bit political, but I am very glad you posted it. I believe it is important for us to know how the people who lead us are thinking. This scares me to death. It seems sort of a reversal of what we 60's flower children felt; he is saying that he is being told to "make war, not love." I am so very grateful that, in Amma, and in the example of many other great saints and sages, we have the example of how to serve the word with love only. It is true, after all, I believe, "Love is all we need." (Ah, I'm showing my age ... but I just bought that Donovan CD that someone on the digest mentioned awhile back, and I love it.) And as Aikya said in her paper about Amma (paraphrase), Amma leads in a completely non-hierarchal way. And She leads with Love. Jai Jai Ma ~ Linda P.S. Guest guest
i dont know if GOD spoke to george bush or not.if you are honest with your self ,you would have to say the same thing.the best thing that we could do is to put him on the prayer list and pray for him and everyone else as AMMA has instructed us to do.THIS ISNT TO SAY THAT I AGREE WITH GEORGE BUSH OR NOT,HOWEVER IN THE BHAGIVAD GITA LORD KHRISNA TELLS ARJUNA TO GO TO WAR AND TO KILL.OFCOURSE WE COULD SAY THAT THAT WAS SYMBOLIC AND THAT HE WAS COMMANDING HIM TO DESTROY HIS EGO AND INNER DEMONS,BUT THE POINT IS THAT ARJUNA DIDNT KNOW WHAT HE ACTUALLY MEANT,AS we often do not know what the greater plan is.like it or not,we are one with GEORGE BUSH,he is our brother.not as an ameirican but as a fellow human being.if AMMA SAW HIM,HER HUG FOR HIM WOULD BE JUST AS WARM AS HER HUGS ARE FOR US.!SO YES LOVE IS ALL WE NEED and through AMMAs grace we do experience it in our hearts but how expanded is our awareness of it?love you. >nierika >Ammachi >Ammachi > Re: To Eric on Leaders >Fri, 7 Oct 2005 09:46:11 EDT > > >Eric posted: > >...In a documentary slated to begin airing on Monday on BBC TV, >Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia and Foreign Minister Nabil >Shaath described the first meeting they had with with Bush in June >2003. >"President Bush said to all of us: 'I'm driven with a mission from >God.
