Guest guest
GeorgeSon quoted Amma, ''In politics there is a duality because one has to support one against another. I believe in oneness. Besides, when you join politics, you can't do service in a selfless and just manner'' Dear GeorgeSon ~ it was very interesting and timely for me to read this because my career was, in a sense political, when I was working, and yet, I also thought of it as selfless service because it was supporting a "cause" I felt strongly about. And yet I can see the wisdom of what Amma says, because in all these organizations there was one idea pitted against another. Even with immunizing children, I was surprised to find out how many people there were against it. But perhaps because Rosalyn Carter was involved, there was more of a sense of unity and selflessness about it. She and Jimmy are real models of two people who came out of politics and turned their energies to selfless service. Selfless service would see no sides, but would only offer help where it is needed.
