Dear Bela

Thank you for both the Taoist and Bahai references. I'm just

realizing that what we're doing in collecting and sharing these

references is exacly what the Circle of Love letter writer does daily.

We look for things which encourae us and inspire US. We may not

necessarily quote it directly in letters but it keeps OUR minds

uplifted and OUR hearts open, so that we can write to others. The

blessing of the letter writing seva is to the mind and heart of the

letter writer as well a the letter recipient.

Many of the Circle of Love letter writers volunteer to write letterw

when they themselves are faced with big challenges. After they have

been writing a little while, I will get an email tha says that they

would also like to receive letter and they share their current tials.

Letter writing seems very dorky to folks who are more accustomed to

doing hard physical labor. Letter writing seems very lightweight, you

know? What a big deal it would be though if we could change the

hearts and minds of most people. Our dear Amma is working so hard on

that all the time.

Circle of Love Letters is a volunteer group in Amma's family,

although we have writers who are not Amma devotees too. The core

gorup writes letters of love a support to referred community members

who aare sick, grieving, or isolated. The recipients do not have to

be Amma devotees. Also, recipients are not required to write back

unless they want to do so. Some recipients are not able to write

back.

Letter writing volunteers sing up for a period of 2-3 months at

which point they can renew their commitment or stop for a while. At

the end of each 2-3 months, each letter writer receives new letter

recipients. It's hard to continually write to the same people when

they are not replying so we switch to get a new start.

We are always seeking recipients so please send us names. snail mail

and email addresses and reasons support is needed. If the person

doesnot have email please ask if they would like to receive letters

form us. We do not use their contact information for anything

except sending them letters.

If you want to write letters, send me an email at aikya

Right now we have a special project to send letters of love and

support for Hurrican Katrina Survivors and Evacuees. If you are

interested in that specific project please make the subject of your

email to aikya "Katrina Letter Writer." If you have a

child who might like to write, please make the subject line "Youth

to Youth Letter Writer."
