Guest guest
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Amma, Once again, thank you all for sending in names for prayers. Blessings to all of you for participating in this seva. I am sure that Amma knows of this, even when She does not see the list, because She has blessed the Prayer List many, many times. Again, I believe it would be a good idea to outwardly (verbally) or inwardly, whichever suits the individual person, state the intention that "I am saying this prayer for these people," and then to outwardly or inwardly say their names. And again, we have a terrible tragedy, with many victims to collectively offer prayer for, during our regular Prayer Day, Sunday, and any other time we choose, those who have been affected by hurricane Katrina. The names for this week's Prayer Group are: Amma (for Her welfare and the safety and good health of Her body) Olu Phillips-Alonge Amritavarshini's Pacific Northwest Sister Vidinyu Ambani Kingsford and Duke and Kevin Ameyaw Amber Arends Amritavarshini Elan & his mother, Tustil Ananda (for shelter & support) Jim Ashley Joan & Joe Avallone Nicholas & Joelle Baranowski (for protection, health & happiness) Bela Judy Bar-Shimon (for any healing or assistance with her auto-immune disease) Judy's Boyfriend Adriane Bradley Carolyn Iva and Dennis Carras Michael Caruso Kok Heng Cheong's nephew Cheryl (for healing of heart to reduce need for dangerous blood-thinning drug) Chris Amy Dawn Julianna Dean (for healing) Koh Young Seng Donn Stanley Dowbnia Koh Koon Ea Emma Erin (recently deceased), Erin's 16 mo. old son, Richard Howard & Richard's Richard's Grandmother, Tere Donnelly, Barbara Ferguson Karen Foxgrover G. Some of the suggestions are: * to say the Aum Amriteswaryai Namah (a mala or as many or as few as is comfortable) * to say your own mantra given by Amma, or some other mantra you feel especially drawn to * to say the 108 Names of Amma * to pray in any other way that suits you * to say the Mahamrtumjaya Mantra (I suggest 21 times, but again, as many or as few as is comfortable. Mantra: tryambakam yajamahe sugandhim pushtivarddhanam urruvarukamiva bandhanan mrtyor mukshi ymamrtat It has been suggested that people could use these names and continue to pray each day or any one or more days during the week, however, the official PRAYER GROUP DAY will be SUNDAY. I would like to suggest, and again this is only a suggestion that people can do or not do, that we end with: Om Lokaah Samastaa Sukhinoh Bhavantu (May all Beings be Happy) and Shant Shanti Shanti
