nights like these

nights like these

my heart bleeds

and i feel a longing on the insides of my elbows that i cling

to the image of you,

to the intoxicating smell of being close to you

like wine and roses,

after you hold me i can smell you for days

in every exhale, amma

its nights like these that my sheets,

feel like the soft white of your sari

which i cling to

and never never want to let go. a moment

in your arms

is eternity to this child,

weeping

all self doubt all the endless

circles and stories we weave

and believe to be our

identity. all the attachment to pain.

all the needless suffering caused

by our forgetfulness.

in a moment in your arms are absorbed and i

am

a child

your child, Ammachi

its nights like these

i miss you so much

my longing is palpable

and i weep for you

does my longing bring you

closer to me, Amma

my heart sometimes feels like a bottomless pit of wanting

and my mind feels like an endless circle spiraling

and me,

where am i but wanting to be with Mother

my prayer is that You come to me,

your adorable image,

that i may cling to your feet like You clung to Krishna,

that your love enters my heart and melts my longing,

that you hear me and dry my tears Ammachi,

my prayer is that You come faster,

that You use me,

that my will submits and surrender to my Amma

OM Amriteswaryai Namaha

Amma be with the ones suffering around the world, mend the broken

hearts and natural disasters and wars, may there be peace on the

heavens and on earth, dear compassionate one, I love you Amma Amma Amma

for gracing my life,

ohm lakahasamasthasukhinubavantu...shanti shanti shanti
