To Iswari A Joyous Yet Difficult Return...

Greetings Iswari...

This reminds me of something a Christian pal of mine sent me, years ago. He

had gone to a retreat/revival and there was a well-known guest speaker

there. It was a teen function, but I think it applies to anyone.

He basically said that when life goes wrong... when we seem riddled with

bad luck and unhappy feelings... we are doing something right in our lives.

His explanation was that it was the devil trying to bring you down, because

he saw that you were uplifting yourself and becoming more Christ-like.

I don't believe in the devil or demons, but think about it. How many times

in your life did you make a big decision or decide to make a positive

change, yet very soon thereafter some sort of crisis falls in your lap and

on your heart? I know, for me at least, this has happened many times. I

think it is a bit of a test so that we don't elude ourselves into thinking

that life is this perfect little bubble, where we will never suffer, never

need or want, or never have any type of pain.

There is also a quote, I believe my a saint of years gone by, or a nun

(forgive me... I recall reading this, but not all of the specifics) who said

something about trials and tribulations... she had said that God would never

give you any more then he knew you could/could not handle. Her response to

this - "I wish God didn't have so much faith in me."

And nothing of you sounds nuts at all, dear! (*^_^*)
