Guest guest
Almost a year ago, a year ago November, I posted the first letter I received from a young man in prison, then in the Winnebago County Jail in Rockford, IL. It was the first reply I received from anyone to whom I wrote in prison. This young man's heart and life had been changed completely by learning about Amma. The clear faith that he expressed in Her moved me greatly and encouraged me to reach out to many others. Now I have another, equally beautiful letter from him which I wouldlike to share with you. I had just sent himETERNAL WISDOM, Volumes I and II when he wrote me a letter in which he quoted from both Awaken Children and from The Bhagavad Gita to the effect that Amma and Krishna are one (Awaken, Children) and then the wonderful final verse of Lord Krishna's teching, could be Amma's teaching, as Michael was presenting it: " Giving up all spiritual practices, Take refuge in Me alone. I will free you from all sin (and its efects). Do not worry." Except Michael quoted it in Sanskrit. I must have written it to him and he had memorized it. So I mailed him his own copy of the Bhagavad Gita. He wrote: "Beloved sister Aikya, I received your letter and the books, and I thank you very much. Those books are cery important to me. Knowing that aman attacke dAmma with a weapon did not cause me anger, because I know Amma allowed that situation to take place for reason. Brothers and sisters must remember that Amma is God, and that God sometimes creates situations in our lives in order to bring us closer to the truth, which is God. Amma has said in one of her books that we must not limit her to her body. She has also said that she is willing to take any number of births for her children. The brother who took the stab wound has showed great love for Amma. When I meditate at night, I feel an extreme peace inside of me. I see Amma sitting on the ocean and I pray to her. As a result I am able to think more clearly. There wa a time when I felt that if a person was n a diffeent religion than mine, I should't pray with that person, but now that has changed because now I see the truth. That isthat everybody is worhippin the same God. ..All say that their God is a God of Love, truth, peace, and justice. You can't tell any one of those groups that they believe in more than one god. Tey alll say one. Their holy books all teach them to love humanity, but do any of them do that? When they read their holy books, they overlook that most important pa
