Voting for Avram

Hi All,

 

With reference to the ongoing debate on Avram, I would like put in my

2c. I believe that Avram is a sincere seeker who asks honest questions.

Anyone who has studied his posts over the years cannot fail to be

impressed by his sincerity and dogged pursuit of enquiry. Perhaps deep

vedantists might opine that some of his enquiries are not into the

Self, and on another flank, ardent bhaktas may be distracted by his

rough and irreverent exterior but those do not constitute reasons for

excommunication.

 

I have also seen Avram rise to Amma's defence, from time to time, in

response to motivated attacks from some quarters. This is something

that does not hit the eye, as his primary mode here appears to be that

of grumbling sceptic. But he is a devotee to the outsiders and a

sceptic to the insiders. In a sense, he represents the transition we

are all in. So do we exile ourselves into oblivion because we did not

get it exactly right, not attain the Buddha-nature in the first

attempt? I vote NO.

 

In summary, the man comes across as being a little coarse sometimes

but I love him. I would like to see him stay.

I will only say one thing on this subject, as it has already engaged

WAY too much of energies that could have been used to help hurricane

victims or something else.

 

AMMA told us to FORGIVE and FORGET regarding the incident where she

was nearly stabbed.

 

Amma hugs and loves everyone, NO MATTER WHAT. She would not turn

someone away, EVER.
