If you have not already been contacted by Sanatani.....please forward

the following information to all satsong leaders, any devotees or

friends of Amma who want to help (in person or by remote) for the

victims of Katrina:

 

"Dear All,

 

My name is Sanatani, and I am helping Uma coordinate the relief

effort.  At this point, we are waiting to see how many people will be

moved to Arkansas.  Most of the people are still in Texas, but we

anticipate that this will be changing shortly, and we are working

towards getting a possible United Nations status through Amma, so that

it will be easier to assist people, without so much red tape.  We will

keep you informed of  the progress.

 

If you don't mind, I would like to get contact information, including

the following:

 

Name and Address

Phone Contact info.

Dates/Times/ Length of time you might be able to stay

Skills/Gifts/Talents you have to offer

Special needs or concerns you might have

Any other important information you can think of....

 

I am currently generating a data base for all volunteers, so that we

can most effectively utilize everyone's skills and time.  We would like

to be able to get going as quickly as possible once we have everything

in place, remembering that this will indeed be a long term endeavor. 

The needs are great and there are many layers. This will include

provision of basic medical needs, housing, jobs and job training,

social service resources, counseling (grief work, PTSD, supportive

therapies) body work (massage would be wonderful) alternative

therapies, spiritual support, clothing, shoes,transportation, hygiene

supplies, books, phones and communication, education, and helping

families to re-establish a basic routine, and to help people feel that

they have choices...empowerment.  They also simply need to know they

are safe, to know that they are supported, and to know they are loved. 

This will give them the resources, the courage and the strength&!

nbsp;to begin again. 

 

Children will have their own set of needs; they have been through

terrible trauma, and now they are being further traumatized by being

sent from one huge shelter to another, surrounded by strangers.  Many

of the children have stopped eating and drinking due to the stress. 

They need so much help...lots of TLC, play therapy, art therapy,

supportive counseling, a calm, peaceful safe environment, toys of their

own again, clothes, shoes, books, music, yoga for kids, pillows,

blankets, art and school supplies, warmer clothes for the upcoming

cooler months, hands to hold, and hearts overflowing....

 

It's a tall order indeed.  However, Our Beloved Mother has illuminated

the path before us, showing us precisely how to do what needs to be

done, and to do it all within  the unceasing flow of divine love that

springs from Her Sacred Heart.  We are Her multitude of Sacred Hearts.

information for you by the end of the week.  In the meantime, please

get back with me as soon as possible with the information I have

requested, as it will make

scheduling mush easier.  There are so many ways to help, even remotely.
