Guest guest
Dear Friends, As many of you know, Hurricane Katrina has blazed a trail of devastation throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida and Alabama. Across the Gulf Coast, Katrina engulfed thousands of homes and decimated the landscape in what could become the most destructive storm in U.S. history. Victims are stranded and in need of immediate medical care, food and water, and tens of thousands of people will need temporary housing for months. The AMERICAN HINDU ASSOCIATION, INC, a Tax-Exempt Organization under Internal Revenue Code, Section 501©(3), is soliciting your tax-deductible contribution to help the Victims of Hurricane Katrina. We cannot leave our brothers and sisters at the mercy of their fate. At this moment they need our help with the calamity that has fallen upon them, to survive hunger and disease, and to rebuild their lives. AHA will channel 100% of your generous contributions to the voluntary, non-governmental organizations, who have been engaged in the relief and rehabilitation of victims in the past. The AHA is administered by volunteers who are not paid for their work. We have set up an emergency fund to raise money for the victims of this disaster. If you wish to contribute to our disaster relief fund by check, please make the check payable to American Hindu Association and write " Victims of Hurricane Katrina " in the memo area. For further information please contact us whindu. Guest guest
Dear AHA Hindu Organization Brothers and Sisters: I do not speak for Amma or M.A. Center. I am just a devotee on this Amma Group Satsang. In my opinion, speaking solely as an individual, I prefer to withold my contribution to AHA instead offering financial assistance to M.A. Center itself. M.A. Center will have a fund targetting Hurricane Katrina Relief available shortly. Having worked within M.A. Center(as volunteer) I am aware that every penny donated to M.A. Center goes to the victims. M.A. Center has almost zero overhead expenses. I do not know of any paid "charity" related employees with the M.A. sphere. Amma has nearly one hundred percent volunteers manning the back offices as well as the front lines. I mean no disrespect to AHA. However this is an Ammachi group and I personally will donate to Ammachi's organization and Ammachi's organization alone. Others in this e-Satsang may do as they please. May Amma guide them in discrimination on this.
