Interconnectedness of the Universe (was: Who is Pray-or Who is Pray-ee -George)

These posts below and other events had me thinking about the inter-

connectedness of the universe in a much more experiential manner

than before.

 

Think of the hypothetical situation that can happen because of the

Katrina devasatation.

 

Gas prices in ATL, I heard, went as high as $6/gallon yesterday. The

refineries in Mississipi ain't gonna fix up so soon, so consider the

spike in gas prices to be there for a fairly long-term. what else

can happen?

1. Car pooling will become more common.

2. Working from home will be pushed for and may become a reality.

3. Automobile demand may come down.

4. Auto-ancillaries industries (like tires, an industry in which I

am working) may see a reduction in demand.

5. Transportation costs may go up. Which automatically mean ALL

COMMODITIES will see a rise in prices.

6. Service industry (like computers, the REAL industry in which I am

working) will likely slump because core manufacturing industries

will reduce spending in new devlopment projects.

7. Public transportation may become more popular.

8. The face of America may change, literally. Most suburbs may get a

city-like feel with the surge of public transportation.

International Impact

1. US may reduce the import of crude oil, which can create a supply-

choke situation in the OPEC leading to slump in oil production.

2. Layoff of domestic and foreign workers. Social unrest.

3. Which leads to economic recession in the OPEC.

An event in Louisiana could potentially impact so many other places,

peoples, activities, lifestyles etc.

 

 

It is said in the Bhagavad Gita and the Chandi that there is a

Kilakam, the central support (or pin) of the entire existence, in

the form of a pin. Remove it and the whole universe collapses! Find

it and you find the source of all life.

 

Katrina could be nature's way of showing us all a hint of the

underlying kilakam that we are all connected to.

 

Indeed if we are so interconnected, Who then is praying to whom? and

for whom?

 

When I see a glimpse of interconnectedness as offered above, I

realize then (dimly yet but convinced nevertheless) that I am

praying to myself, to save myself.

 

That my prayers should be granted to me by me, is my humble prayer.
