Dear GeorgeSon ~ I am sure, as you are, that Amma would not say something

potentially scary about upcoming bad news or "dark clouds," just for sport. Amma

is way beyond/above that kind of human mischief.

 

I am watching the news coverage ... seeing people crying, seeing people

asking for word of missing children or other relatives; hearing of people

begging

for food and water, and it is clear to me that the response is slow in

coming. And I cannot help but wonder why.

 

We all need courage in the face of this devastation. This morning, I heard

someone on the news describe a certain area where they hurricane hit looking as

if it had been struck by a nuclear bomb. Clearly, in recent US history,

there is no tragedy that compares to this one.

Yet, you are one of the most courageous people I know, GeorgeSon. Even to

admit a lack of courage requires courage and honesty. Prayers to Hanuman might

be auspicious right now.

 

I have created a folder in the Files section on our Page,

entitled "Chalisas." Eventually, I envision this will contain various Chalisas

for

different dieties, but right now the Hanuman Chalisa is in this folder for

anyone who wants to access it.

I have also wondered about the slow response. I just watched CNN

during my lunch hour between 12-1 PST. One hospital was

overwhelmed. CNN thought there may be a sniper shooting at people

carrying the sick in to ER. There was not even one soldier guarding

the hospital. Chaos.

 

What would Amma do?

 

She would tell us about the dogs curly tail. Try to make it

straight. Pull the tail out and boing it resumes its form.

 

Try not to grieve. The world has always been this way. It will not

change until we have God Realized empathy. Amma sees everything

symbiotically. The suffering victims are extensions of Her arms and

limbs. Would Amma not see an infected sore on Her hand? Do we say

oh that hand is not me? Let the hand fend for itself? No way!

 

We would get in our car and rush to an urgent care facility.

 

Most americans (myself included) have this awful disconnect. We fail

to see that the gulf victims are none other than our very own Self.

Amma sees this like we see the nose on our face.

 

Imprisoned (as it were) in a state of delusion we see a quote unquote

Southern Black Man or an Indian Doctor or Wolf Blitzer a CNN anchor

without integral awareness. The victim is me. The so-

called "helpers" are me. A divine play is going on. Shakespeare

said "All the world is a stage"

 

The tragedy in the Gulf Coast is an enactment.
