Dear GeorgeSon ~ after reading your post about New Orleans being spared, I must have heard mistakenly. Some part of Louisiana was under 30 feet of water, but it was not New Orleans. Guest guest
Dear Linda: Forgive me for not writing with more clarity. Did not mean to convey New Orleans was spared by the Divine. The night before Katrina hit land the chief scientist from the U.S. National Hurricane Center said that the ferocious eye of the hurricane was projected to make a bee line right smack into New Orleans city proper. The next morning the same scientist said that for some un-explained reason most of the storms "eye" deviated away from New Orleans and the brunt went toward the more rural areas of Mississippi. Instead of New Orleans getting a devastating 25 plus inches of rain it seems to have received 15 or so. Some sections are at twenty feet now because some levees broke. New Orleans (I know I am sounding geeky) is the worst case scenario because it was built below sea level. Another advantage of Katrina deviating at the last moment is that winds were clocked Monday at 100 mph instead of potentially 150 plus mph. The current Mayor says they are now 'devastated". The Divine may have prevented the word "annihilated" Once again your compassion reflects well on your Master.
