It will probably be months before they get the water pumped out and basic services restored, (i.e., until people can come back). Most houses will have been destroyed by prolonged immersion in water. We¹re talking about a million and half people displaced, as I understand it. This is a major blow to the US economy. More hurricanes are brewing in the Atlantic.
