Dear Amma, please bless and look after Judy Bar-Shimon, and her boyfriend Stan Rosen of Fairfield. Judy is at U of I hospital in Iowa City and may be dying of an auto immune disease. She can't move or even swallow, and the doctors don't know what to do. Dear Rick and All ~ I am not sure how others participating in our digest feel, but I have always felt that it was more than okay to put someone on the prayer list, whether the person knew or had met Amma or not. In fact, I have simply assumed that there are people who are doing this. We are, after all, all Her children. I will add Judy and Stan to the prayer list for two months. If you think they should be on the list longer, please let me know. Now a personal note: auto-immune diseases are afflicting more and more people. I have read many accounts of people who, when they first developed Fibromyalgia, could not move, couldn't get out of bed. Some get better; I talked to a friend of mine today who I didn't know had Fibromyalgia, and this is what happened to her. For me, it has been more of a progressive illness, starting off with irritating chronic, but not severe, pain, and then gradually getting worse. Now I am to the point, where there are days I can't get out of bed. Difficulty swallowing is one of the key symptoms of Fibromyalgia. I have great difficulty swallowing much of the time, and it can be somewhat scary. I am not saying this is what Judy has, but it could be, and if her doctors haven't considered it, perhaps a little bee could whisper in her boyfriend's ear. The truly sad aspect of this and other auto-immune diseases is that they are all relatively new, and most doctors haven't a clue what to do to help people who have them. (Sorry for the rant, but I went to town to run a couple of errands this morning, just a couple ... half way through my errand run, I was in severe pain, my stomach was cramping, and I wasn't sure I'd be able to make the drive home. Fortunately, however, here I am, so I did make it.) Amma Blessings to Judy and her boyfriend. Jai Ma ~ Linda
