Namah shivaya

The man did not come to Amma for healing or anything like that. The latest info

i get from chatting with a friend at Amritapuri is that it was a plot. this man

may have been a stooge or whatever, but there were two others in the crowd who

also assaulted the brahmacharies.

I can discuss this offline with whomever- i cannot discuss further here.

Please pray.

Dear All,

I think anger is sometimes necessary. Yes Krishna tried all possible methods

of peace with the kauravas but nevertheless he did not tolerate adharma.

I dont think the attacker was mentally ill. Rather the other two people who

ran away from the crowd make me feel that this was a calculated plot. Also, this

man was intelligent enough to dress up as a brahmachari- he was wearing a

yellow shawl and he concealed a knife.

He says, according to the news reports, that "he loves Amma more than god"... is

that why he carried a knife with him?

and doesnt a devotee of 18 years know that you get darshan by getting a token ,

not by rushing the stage during darshan with a knife in your hand?

whom is he kidding?

please..

also, why should I side with evil? why shouldnt I be ready to condemn something

i consider horrible?

Hasnt the world suffered enough from people who persecute mahatmas? Georgeson

talks about bad karma accumulated by the man- what about the bad karma

generated for humanity as a whole when a Divine Being is persecuted?

the problem is that in the name of goodness we tolerate too much evil. We

blame the victim very often ..

Goodness and compassion doesnt mean we should tolerate evil , or be gentle with

scoundrels.

yes that man has a soul , Amma, the divine spark deep within. I dont disagree. I

have nothing against his soul- it is his mind that came up with this macabre

plot, and his absolute lack of a conscience that I am against.

My anger is just a way of expressing my uncompromising attitude against such

people.

Also Amma has acquired many enemies because of the beautiful work she is doing.

People like politicians who see that Her sincere work is making Her very

popular, people like misguided members of certain organisations who see that

they cannot convert as many people as they used to to their religion because

of Amma's godly influence, people who are plain jealous , people who want to

make money through false means and people who are seeking power ....

I cannot tolerate anyone among these groups who will actually decend to the

level of attempting to murder a Mahatma in order to foster their own selfish

interests.

Amma is one of the greatest beings to set foot on earth, and even from a purely

worldly standpoint, She is one of the greatest humanitarians ever. That She,

through Her simple hugging , is able to heal the wounds of millions, and inspire

so many millions of charitable acts, itself makes Her a miracle. I dont care if

She is omniscient or realized or Devi or Krishna or not. Her simple and sure

way of soothing people's hearts and reaching out to millions makes Her one of

the greatest humans ever.

That anyone would think of hurting, let alone kill, such a being is beyond

imagination. It shows the depths of degradation that man can sink to, the

bestial abyss that the so called "evolved" human being is capable of.

In being angry with this man, i am being angry with all that is wrong and evil

in this world. To me sunday's incident is the attempted replaying of the

crucifixion of Christ.

It shows that mankind, as a whole, has not improved much in 2000 years.

Rama was maligned, there were numerous attempts on Krishna's life, Jesus was

tortured and killed in a most barbaric fashion, every mahatma has had to deal

with such muck.

As Sri Aurobindo says "

"Hard indeed is the world redeemer's task

His enemies are the ones he came to save.."

and

"The cross the payment for the crown they came to give".

To me , sunday's incident is symbolic of all that is wrong on earth, it is

symbolic of all of man's ignorance and perversion, it is once again the ugly

sore of man's ego showing through, the putrid tumor of evil spreading its

cancerous poison in the heart of humanity.

the incident should make us deeply angry and sad and ashamed. Ashamed to be a

human being.
