Crazy for God, or just plain crazy? ~ in response to Times News Report

i just cannot keep myself quiet seeing the news item in the below post. let me

clarify...

 

1. The attacker had "plans" and had accomplices along with him (even Amma

confirmed that he was not alone. There were two others).

2. The instrument used to stab was NOT a rubber tapper's knife. And the way he

attempted to stab those around him was done in such a manner as to cause MAXIMUM

damage to the human body. Arun Kumar almost got his kidneys & lungs punctured.

3. He says he wanted darshan, and thats why he came onto the stage. Amma was

singing bhajans at that time. Amma DOES NOT give darshan while singing bhajans.

4. He says, "I love Amma more than god and despite several attempts to get

Amma's darshan (glimpse) I was unable to do so". Does anyone have to carry a

knife to protect himself when going to meet the God they love??? No one who

comes to Amritapuri have to try so hard for Amma's darshan. All they need to do

is to get themselves a token & waiting for their chance.

5. He says, "I drew out the knife after I was attacked by people when I moved

towards Amma". NO ONE attacked Pavithran. Its he who turned violent when

requested to move out of the stage. He not just drew out the knife, he was

attempting to stab anyone who was approaching him. Three were injured.

6. He was not a devotee. anyone who visits the ashram CANNOT be considered a

devotee. He was found doing seva in the morning. This was to get hold of a

badge. He used this badge to move onto the stage. ONLY Ashram inmates, who are

part of the chorus, the photographers & one/two others who are in-charge of the

stage are allowed onto the stage during bhajans.

7. He had been under treatment in the past. but, none suspected him for a

patient, from his quickness of thought and his physical activeness.

8. It was not an accident as he was picturising it. We've EVERY reason the

believe that the attack was a planned one. There was an intelligence report on a

possible attack 3 weeks back.

 

Amma has requested everyone to forgive & forget. Let the authorities take the

suitable action. Anger is quite natural. i cannot put in words, the rage we were

experiencing at the time. only after Amma requested all of us, did we start

cooling down. Anger will attract the karmic burden of the attacker towards us.

Do we have to burden our Mother??

and I say this as a sister in freak-outs/break-downs/shakti shake-ups

that go down around Amma, not as a slur in any way or pejorative sense

against so-called "nutcases" ...

 

in an earlier part of the article his family told police he was on

medication and loses his balance when he doesn't take it, becoming

violent. In this reported statement it sounds like he may have been

REACTING to being blocked from approaching Her, rather than attacking

per se. Although of course curiousity is raised about the

circumstances leading to him being "expelled."

 

And, Nirmal of Boston, can you back me up here (sorry I haven't phoned

back)... Isn't it interesting how many of the stories use the term

"inmates" to describe ashram residents.
