Guest guest
This is very scary. Quite a few other devotees and myself had been having very ominous feelings and dreams about Mother and her safety. We started thinking maybe we were just crazy. Had anyone else had feelings/dreams like this prior to this incident? Is there a group of people out to harm her and do we need to worry? Comments, opinions???? There have always been forces that have tried to stop Mother in various ways, since Her earliest days. Even Her own late brother. But...Maa always come through it victoriously, and She will continue to, In this i have full faith. She is Mahishasura Mardini! Please let us try and not feed the negativity by over dwelling on this event. i don't mean ignore it, just not dwell on it and feed it with our Fear. > > > > > > Ammachi, Rachel Barrett Gallop > <hipstorian@g...> wrote: > > From amritapuri.org, 1:40 pm New York time: > > > > "Amma is unharmed. Guest guest
Ananthasree, As Amma says: Remain calm and pray. It is all we can do for now. Let's count our blessings. Mother always seems to be telling us *not* to worry, so the answer to that part of your query is probably a resolute NO. "Don't worry, be happy," as Ziggy's balloon sang to Her at Boston. And if you are worried, may I suggest listening to or chanting the Mahishamardini for inspiration about Devi's defeat of that demon (among many). I'm sorry to cause upset by posting this news. I was just reading Iswari's post about the first Devi Bhava in a long time & was sort of in an altered state meditating on Lalita's emerald hue when I clicked over to the Amritapuri site and saw the announcement. It reminded me of an incident I heard of back in the 1940s or 1950s when Swami Sivananda (of the Divine Life Society) was attacked. His disciple Sw. Vishnu Devananda (who founded the vedanta yoga centers in Canada and the U.S.), was among those who defended him, and then the Master rebuked him for his anger at the attacker. Kind of like Christ on the Cross, "Forgive them, they know not what they do." Amma has survived several known "attacks" from poison, broken glass, other violences, and also I believe another knife-wielder who then died a very painful death himself. We can only speculate about what kinds of subtle battles She wages on an ongoing basis as She purifies this world. Guest guest
Amma knows all. We never need to worry, though we should always take proper precautions. What is to be will be, and what is not to be will not be. - muktimaa Ammachi Sunday, August 21, 2005 12:40 PM Re: Devi Bhava incident at Amritapuri?
