Dear Katie ~ I won't say I have any great ability at dream analysis, but I have done Tarot freadings and workshops for many years (not the usual predictive type, but more as seeing the Tarot cards representing our spiritual journey). In this dream you were making a journey. And in some ways, I can't help but think that perhaps some of this dream was generated by all the discussion in the group of whether is it okay or not to see other gurus. In any case, you were very clear in your choice ~ you were seeking Amma.In a way, the hurricane could be seen as a vehicle (after all, it was a hurricane that got Dorothy out of Kansas). In this case, the hurricane allowed you to discover a new ability in yourself (flying) and you were able to get to the desert where you knew Amma's ashram was. A hurricane is a destructive force of nature, but it sweeps everything away, so in a sense, it could also be looked as a force to rid you of vasanas. Who knows, if you had too many vasanas holding you down, you might not have been able to fly. In many symbolic systems air (via the flying) represents thought in all its qualities, but in its purest, highest state, the ability to discriminate. Air also symbolizes seeing. Your seeing is obsructed, or you have wiped the window clean (or gotten rid of it all together, as with the hurricane) so you are able to see clearly. In the Tarot (as I use it and teach it), this seeng clearly is the ability to see all things as Divine. You had already shown your ability to discriminate once, in Kerala. Then you showed it again, by realizing that the gift shop/ashram wasn't where Amma was either. Yet, you found in yourself the ability to see the old woman as an avatar of Devi. Isn't this what we all seek ~ to see the people and things around us as Divine? You drew a talik on your brow (which is interesting because when I googled this, there was a reference for making the talik with ash or soot), signifying your loyalty to Hindu spirituality (and what that represents to you, Amma). And after all that, this (Devi) woman came in and said she had just got off the phone with Amma, and that Amma had sent you, which to me signifies that, even in your subconscious mind, you are so aligned with Amma that you would follow Her direction. All in all, a wonderful dream. Blessings ~ Linda
Guest guest
*Chuckles* Perhaps it is the common background of Tarot readings and such, but I believe this is the second time that we've agreed quite extensively on the meanings of my dreams. lol I plan to google the talik bit after I write this to see what you found, but it definitely is interesting. You've put into words what my mind was trying to piece together from the dream. I couldn't believe, though, that I'd had a second dream within a few weeks of the previous, when I know others have never been blessed with Her presence in their dreams, though they've known of her longer than myself. I consider each dream a definite blessing, no matter the meaning. Jai ma! -Katie
