Therefore, you have to accept the reality as it is and yourself as you are. Goodness cannot be imposed or cultivated. Goodness is your inner being which is completely hidden. You can only break through the shell with God's name. When you rise in the morning, firstly sit down and sing God's name. Go on singing the Lord's name for thirty to forty minutes. Repeat this process again when you go to bed at night. Even if you return late from a night club and you are a little drunk, it doesn't matter - that's part of life. You can still sing God's name. When you repeat God's name you don't spend time, you gain time. It's a long-term investment." -Swami Satyananda Saraswati, Founder of the Sivananda Math Dear ecjenson ~ wow! I love this. The ideas in this quote from Swami Satyananda Saraswati are the very ideas which led me from my terribly fear-based Christian/Catholic background to search for what I felt in my heart to be true. We are not essentially evil or bad. Our essential nature is divine, and it just like polishing the mirror to see what is really there. Also, I really like these simple but elegant techniques like singing God's name in the morning and evening. Thank you for posting this.
