Dear George ~ I loved this definition of prayer. I will share another in a minute. At first when I read the first sentence, I got very confused, so I went to my favorites and realized I was confusing the Himalayan Institute witih the Himalayan Academy, which was founded by Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami. I know you know about him because you have also posted things from their site. Wonderful to have all this wisdom at our fingertips. I think I posted just a bit of this before. It is from Swami Satyananda Saraswati of the Devi Mandir in California. It was a message he sent to their Prayer Club. "Prayer, worship, and meditation refer to different intensities of absorption in Divine Communion In prayer wee week for a specific outcome or resoluton to our actions. In worship we demonstrate respect and appreciation for the privilege to be in the Divine Presence. In meditation we remove all distinctions between ourselves and the Divine and become One." I thought this was so beautiful, I printed it out, clipped it and taped it to my wall. : ) We are very lucky to have such wise and great souls walking upon the earth in this time.
