Guest guest
I have always wondered what it really means to awaken in the way that Amma asks of us. This summer I received a very solid answer, probably one of many, but an answer that wasn't philosophical but gut level and real. one night as Amma was getting ready to do Bhajans i was watching her intently. As usual I was in a blissful mood around her. When I saw her sitting on the stage majestically, her form became more masculine to me. her jaw became bigger and jutted out strongly. her facial features became male and stark looking. I became very aware that she was Hanuman, king of the dharmic monkey army, sitting at an encampment during the wars in the Ramayana legend. She was the God realized general, perfect in her adherence to dharma, and we were the soldiers in her army. Following such a majestic leader is pure bliss. There are no doubts or fears as to her purity of intention in carrying out the orders of Rama. I can't tell you the feeling of power that came over me in that mood. The power to accomplish everything good that is needed to be done. The power of blissful surrender to the orders of a dharmic king. The blissful confidence that comes from doing Guruseva. I felt that I had awakened from a dream and discovered my real identity, my identity in relationship to the Guru. These bhakti moods are so powefurful on an inner level. Isn't this where everything happens?
