OM amriteshvaryai namaH

Namaste Friends,

Books:

------

Thanks to all you wonderful people who made suggestions and which I

am going to follow in the weeks to come. I did finish reading Swami

AmritSwarupAnanda's biography on Ammachi, which I had picked up

from her recent visit to Boston, MA ... along with Awaken Children

III. I have a huge laundry list of items :)) which I plan to

purchase, including the book suggestions given and ofcourse

considering buying some DVD's. Are there particularly

good/sensational DVD's which you think is worth collecting????

Thanks!!!

Amma's Birthday

---------------

Dear Bala .... Couldn't have said it better myself!!! Being a

serious student of Astrology, it is interesting to me to really

find out there true birth details , but they hold little value

for a realized soul like Ammachi, whom we consider no less than

Goddess Kali herself!!! Kali is the manifestation of time ... and is

beyond all time ... what use is such an illusory concept to her!!!

Her attitude is perhaps ... it doesnt matter to me ... I will go

along with whatever pleases you kids :))) .... everyday, every minute

and every second is her birthday as she is a part of millions of

human beings who take birth every second that transpires on this

earth!

Technical Stuff (Please feel free to Ignore :))

--------------

As per vedic astrology, more significance is given to tithi also

known as vedic date (angular distance of sun & moon) and nakshatra

a person is born in, rather than date (which is a gregorian concept).

Further, there is a lunar-year and other parameters which clearly

pin-point a persons birth. In India, in places where people are

not meticulous to record birth-time ... it is a common practice to

know the rasi (moon sign at birth) and/or nakshatra(constellation)

at birth.

So I would doubt the year given 1953.

I am in the process of rectifying her time of birth. There are

techniques available in vedic astrology to cast a chart of a person,

who does not know his time or year of birth. This goes by the name of

Nashta Jataka or Lost Horoscopy. When I cast a prashna(question) for

finding out Ammachi's birth details ... the year 1953 stood out!

Linda ... wonderful song!!

Thanks for listening,

Warm Regards

Narayan
