If you read about the lives of the saints (Shree Maa, Ammachi, Anandamayi Ma, Sarada Devi and I believe Swamiji) they were abused by their families and had unfortunate experiences in their lives until they truly "remembered" who they were and had the strength to stand up for themselves in their glory.. Dear Pahari Maa ~ thank you so much for the reminder. Standing up for myself is the one thing I have always had trouble doing. I can stand up for other people really well; I think that is why I spent my working life in cause-oriented non-profits. Sometimes remembering who I am seems so easy, just a change of mind, and sometimes it seems near impossible. But I'll get there, thanks to Swami, Shree Maa, Ammachi, Suzuki, Alan Watts, Joseph Campbell, Paramahansa Yogananda ... the list could go on for a page; my search to remember has been going on ever since I left home...and Pahari Maa, who helps me to remember now. This is part of what a satsang is for, is it not? Love ~ Linda
