Guest guest
Om Namah Shivayah! I am suffering from another case of having fallen in love with a song I have only heard once or twice, was enraptured with at the moment, and then it faded out like a dream does. So bear with me in my feeble attempt to describe a song of which I know very little about! I hope someone here will know the song I am referring to! I first heard the song on the DVD of Mother's 50th birthday celebrations. It was not shown in it's entirety...it was only shown in a clip of about 30 seconds. It sounded VERY much like opera and was in English. I believe (and I could be absolutely wrong) that the first line went something like, "Where, where is my light? Lifetimes I have waited for your touch." This is all I remember as far as lyrics go. In the 50th birthday celebrations, it was sung by someone from the Netherlands. Later, I heard the song again I think it was in the DVD "I am Amma's baby" (again I could be wrong on this) and it was played as the soundtrack while she was giving darshan. The song is very operatic and absolutely haunting. Not a lot of music in the song, mostly vocals. I don't know what it is about that song, but I have only heard it in short bursts, yet it feels like I have heard the song 10,000 years ago...and now I must find it. I will be very greatful if someone can lead me in the right direction as to what this song is and how I can get it. Jai Ma! Guest guest
Hi, Probably others know more about this than I do, but I think the song, which I've always loved too, starts out--or has the lyric "Pure, pure is your love" and is sung by Gitamba, an operatically trained devotee from, as you say, the Netherlands. I've always thought it was from some Broadway production perhaps, but am not sure why I think so. It is a haunting melody, and I, too, would like to have a copy. Guest guest
PS: I also has thought this was from a Broadway show, and I don't know why I thought that either. Does anyone know if it indeed is? Ammachi, "E. Guest guest
I am somewhat of a broadway/musical addict and I've never heard a song with these lyrics... With love, Erica Ammachi, "E. Guest guest
Hi Erica, It's nice to hear from you, too! I'm not sure but that the "Amma lyrics" may be different words than are sung to the Broadway song, if indeed there is such a critter.
