Dear ecjensen ~ I have never posted any "rules" for the prayer list, so if

there are some posted somewhere (like in the files section), please let me

know, so I can take a look at them. Not having rules is why, when the list

shows

up in the Friday digest, it is very open ended as to what prayers people

might use, and anyone is free to pick her/his own. I think I do have a

suggestion

that people might want to read the names before offering their prayers, but

there was much input from the group when the Prayer Group started, which is

why there are so many options. Our "official" prayer group day is Sunday, but

in the suggestions it does say that people may feel free to use the list at

any other time of the week.

 

The common denominator is Amma, because She is the One we are offering our

prayers to. Other than that, people may request prayers for people or

situations for any reason they wish. The list is only the names, so Amma (and

I) are

the only ones who know why the prayers are being requested. We decided not to

post the reasons with the names, but we could always decide to change that.

In fact your emal has given me an idea that when I start the list over, after

August 31, I will ask for any additional input people might wish to have

about how the list is working.

 

I can't think of anyway for a person to help with the list. Actually, I can

think of one way that people could be involved. It really is not that much

work, but I will keep you in mind if I come to a point where I feel someone

else

should have the opportunity to do this seva because it really is wonderful.
