Guest guest
Namah Shivyah I don't like to ask for prayers unless they are sincerely needed, and I am asking for them today. My husband has been looking for a job in his field since 2002. It has been the longest and most painful process that both of us have had to endure. We submitted his resume for a job today (I work for a staffing company) that would be GREAT for him. We have a good relationship with the client; the job is a direct hire with a good company; they've been looking for candidates for a while. It's looking good so far... Not to mention it would be a big pay increase from what he's making now! Please pray for my husband Rajesh. He really wants this job. I pray that he gets it, after such a long and difficult struggle. In 2003, Amma told him to "be patient" in his job search... I wonder if nearly three years is patient enough... With love, Erica

Guest guest
Actually, Tabitha, it sounds like you **are** still in a relationship with the father of your children. As is fitting. And his controlling, selfish behavior sounds all too familiar. I love my husband, and I loved my partner before that. But men... well, men can be such men. Bossy m-f-r-s, if y'all will excuse me getting my Irish-Celtic-French-Afreakacolloquialism up on the topic for a crude moment. I'm sorry he's manipulating you, T., and using love as more of a weapon than a balm. He probably can't help himself, on some level. I mean, of course he ** could ** control his mind and his mouth and his motivations. But just that he's evolving like us all, and makes selfish choices and falls into similarly socially conditioned gender pressures. Amma has said similar things, in certain situations, to devotees who face obstacles to their spiritual duties from family members, as per the wonderful example cited by another devotee about Anandamayee Ma's advice to one of her daughters. Verrry similar!! It is a difficult situation, and I pray you find balance between your need for satsang and your family obligations -- both those duties to which you naturally bend as well as those responsibilities more imposed or "sexpected." Amma is everywhere, even if you can't get to satsang. You can still read her books, listen to the bhajans, watch a DVD or video, or cruise the website. Nevertheless, if he is serious about his dharma fellowship, I would think he could also find space in his practice to accommodate yours.
