The one Ananthasree is talking about isn't in English and is set at a much faster pace, with different words...even if, when it comes down to it, they're all about Amma carrying us across the river! =) Incidentally, if you like the song "The Water Is Wide," I recently heard a beautiful version by Irish alternative artist Luka Bloom (you can download it from iTunes, if you have that). He usually plays his guitar pretty intensely, but he ended up with tendonitis at one point and recorded a CD of lullabies/softer songs. "I'll Walk Beside You" on the same is also lovely! Dear Iswari ~ it does sound like we are talking about two different songs. The one I was referring to, so far as I know, was on the tape that Gayatri recorded, and it was definitely based on the old folk song, with the lullaby type meter. Now, for the other song, which tape was it on? Also, thank you for the info about Luka Bloom. I will check out iTunes. Can you tell me how one downloads songs, or do they give clear directions at the site. I am pretty much a technododo. : ) And speaking of that side of the world, there is a Scottish musician, Dougie McClaine (not sure of the spelling). His songs are beautiful and haunting. Some are original and some are traditional. Even though our major topic of conversation here is Amma, it is nice to find out that some of us have things in common, like art, or music, or poetry. I think Ananthasree's website will give us even more of an opportunity to learn about and share these different aspects of our selves.
