Guest guest
I just have to add my two cents to this discussion. Those who followed Jesus Christ throughout the desert, were most certainly labelled cult members (or at least whatever word was used in place of "cult" at the time). If Jesus himself were persecuted, were not his followers persecuted even moreso? Any time a great Avatar is present on this planet, criticism will ensue. It is human nature to try to find fault with those things that are incomprehensible to us. When I think of a cult, I think of something that is or eventually becomes detrimental to the devotee. I also think that to indicate a cult, indicates that the leader of the so-called cult is false...a false prophet etc. I think if we were to assemble a list of Amma's many miracles and incomprehensible events surrounding her, they would greatly outweigh any negatives. If a person takes a financial fall in order to follow Amma, that is their own doing. Amma doesn't tell anyone to follow her. It happened with Jesus, Joan of Arc Krishna, Buddha....every great avatar on this earth has been scrutinized and criticized...why should Mother be any different? But you know....in a way all of this talk serves as a testament to her divinity....and she is in wonderful company. I am perfectly fine being called a cult member, if Amma is the one in question. All of us devotees should feel immeasurably blessed. I don't think we will ever be able to comprehend the scope of this until we leave these bodies. Simply coming to know of Amma, where trillions have never heard her name, is a great blessing in itself. No one ever knows the scope of things until thousands of years later, and I am certain that we are participating in a consciousness shift that will be felt in many years to come...how blessed we all are!
