Guest guest
I was wondering why two additional hotels were added for the East Coast retreat. Is the East Coast retreat usually that many people or are there other events going on at the hotel? Just curious! Guest guest
Namaste Michelle, Ironically those two additional hotels are filled too. When I registered for retreat my registration # was 3548. Website informs all accomidations are filled and "you have to find your own accomidation". So inspite of addittional hotels not much room. I may be wrong but East Coast retreat have largest numbers because of Tri state (NJ has largest number of Indian population than any other state in US). Anybody here from Boston satsang who could give us some insight? BTW Michelle I will see you in Boston (Marlborough) Aum Avinash. Guest guest
Hi, I'm catching up on old e-mails, so will venture a few words here. It was a great joy to meet Avinash at the Boston retreat :-). I usually help with registration at the retreats I attend, so I can say that MA Center staff told me that they simply didn't get enough rooms at the first two hotels, so had to use three. The number on your registration is for all retreats, not just the one you are registering for. In the library world, we would have called it an accession number for an item added. The three retreats I attended, Seattle, LA, and Boston had approximatley 700, 900, and 1000 attendees respectively. I don't know about the others. I think a lot of people got in the habit of going to the East Coast retreat when it was the last one of the summer tour. I certainly saw a lot of West Coast faces showing up! Toronto only had about 600. It seemed very intimate. Amma danced for us. There was no place for an outdoor meeting, so we had the Q&A indoors. People living in bubble areas would do well to cash in and move to places like this, where there is no bubble.
