I really enjoyed that part about Kali coming to life and doing all those defensive manouvers! Dear Sweta ~ I didn't share this when I first read your story, but it sounds like an episode right out of the Chandi Path, and the defensive maneuvers. Durga/Kali came forth from Shiva when the Gods asked the Goddess to rise and help destroy the negative thoughts that had driven the Gods from the heavenly realms and taken over. In the Chandi, Durga/Kali rides upon a Lion, yet I have seen many pictures of Her where she rides upon or is with a Tiger. Here is a short segment of the great battle: Chapter 3, Verse 10 - 12 (Sanskrit transliteration ommitted) "When the Goddess saw that pike coming at Her, She, too, let loose Her pike which split his weapon into numerous pieces, and Devoid of Clear Understanding (one of the negative thoughts) gave up his life. After the death of that valiant general in the army of the Great Ego, Devoid of Clear Understanding, who had been the source of affliction to many Gods, Fickleness approached mounted on an elephant. He attacked the Goddess from above with his energy, but the Mother of the Universe with the shout of Her mantra "Hum" wounded him, and deprived of light, the energy fell to the earth... Verse 43 - 44 Shrieking and crying the remaining thoughts of that army ran away, and all the Gods became exceedingly joyous! In great satisfaction the Gods joined the great seers in hyms of praise to the Goddess, while the celestial chorus and nymphs sang and danced with joy. Om" There is much more about the great battle, and it sounds so much like your description of your Kali statue coming to life and doing defensive maneuvers. Our Mother will protect us whenever we need, especially when we ask. Jai Ma ~ Linda
