Om Namah Shivaya,

My hesitency in sharing is because in the past, I wonder if I've been too free

in sharing my little spiritual experiences, or experiences with Amma. As you

know, they are so sacred & I don't want to depreciate them in any way. When

Ramadevi gave the IAM training in 2004, she said that telling others of our

meditation experiences could be likened to kissing & telling. Plus, sometimes

people might compare experiences or feel jealous about them. So, I want more

discrimination, to know what's O.K. & what's not O.K. to share. Does anyone

have thoughts on this? It feels fine to share the following with everyone ...

Very, very many years ago, I made some attempts to be a sincere follower of

Christ. For a period of time, I would sing to God while driving alone, &

although I didn't understand why, tears would just stream down my face. During

this same period, I prayed to God about speaking in tongues. My desire was to

get out of the way so that the Holy Spirit could speak through my little voice

After singing & crying to God, as I recall it, it sometimes felt that my soul,

heart or true self, was talking, praying to God. On repeated occasions I ended

up saying 'Hrim' so often, that I distinctly recall wondering if it were an

actual word in another language.

After meeting Amma about 2-1/2 years ago, I learned of the syllable 'Hrim.'

Bhajan book #1's English translation of "Hrim Kali" states, "O Goddess Kali

identified with the sound 'Hrim.' Interestingly, last spring Amma's astrologer

said my Ishta Deva is Kali.

Even though I've seen our Amma, Kali Herself, I still want a vision of Kali!

But, my closest experience was a dream. Well over a year ago, I was having some

difficult interactions with a group of woman where I worked. Another coworker

said they had a gang mentality! Anyway, one night I dreamed of a group of woman

sitting around at work, & I think they were verbally attacking me behind my

back. Then my little bronze colored Kali statue came to life, & started doing

all sorts of defensive manuevers in front of me! It reminded me of a martial

art. Next, I saw a HUGE tiger walking in, & I just knew that Devi was sitting

on it. After that, I would sometimes visualize Kali defending me, & a gigantic

tiger carrying Devi, when I wanted protection.

Swetaji,

Thanks for sharing your experience with Hrim and Kali. It is very

inspiring. I really enjoyed that part about Kali coming to life and

doing all those defensive manouvers!

Hi Sweta,

There is no silver bullet here, but just some (personal) guidelines.

1. Share only if it is needed to be shared.

("Need to be shared" definition

a. Sharing because you need to ask a question to get an answer

b. Sharing because you feel it will help the other person(s).

c. Sharing is in relation to an existing topic being discussed and

that it does not viloate a and b above.

Not in "Need to be shared" definition

a. trying to show to others you had "cool" experiences.

b. sharing out of context.

2. Share as much as you comfortably can.

3. Try and keep a %age of your number of experiences private; the

silent reflections on these will stoke your yearning for the divine!

Jai Ma!

Fairly comprehensive algorithm! Good to remember.
