Namah shivaya

Reminds me of another swami story.. One of Amma's swamis once insisted that

Amma give him a vision of Her form as Kali ... Amma said that he wouldnt be able

to bear it.. but then he insisted. He even went on a fast and prayed deeply for

that vision.

One day he was outside Amma's room. ( this was in those days when Amma used to

give darshan in a hut - "kutil darshan") . Amma was walking up and down from

the hut and towards the staircase to Her room and back.

and even as the swami was looking , when she walked in one direction She

appeared as the normal Amma and when She walked in the other direction She was

Kali- 30 feet tall( he said that she was at the height of the palm tree), with

tongue hanging out and all....

the swami was overcome, and frankly terrified. He just looked down in fear and

bowed his head down. after that Amma came and told him "Didnt I tell you you

wouldnt be able to bear it?".

It was after this vision, that the swami composed the bhajan "Hrim Kali".

Jai Kali Ma.

Perhaps the Swami also thinks that Amma is Kali and that's why he

brought a group to see her. What do you think?

played in this outdoor dining area equipped with a screen showing

Amma giving Darshan two floors below. The southern california

evening was filled with Amma's indescribable calm laden Shakti.

He mentioned that Elizabeth Usha Harding was there as well but not

on the dinner line. I would have liked to meet her since I enjoyed

her book. The book helped me understand the complex art of Kali

worship. I confess I am not much of a ritualist.
