Guest guest Posted June 27, 2005 Report Share Posted June 27, 2005 Math hands over keys of 89 houses for tsunami victims THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Six months after the killer tsunami hit the coastal belt, the Mata Amritanandamayi Math on Sunday handed over 89 houses to the victims in Alappuzha district of Kerala. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy received the keys from Math representative Swami Amritakripanandapuri at a function held at Amritapuri. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the Math was at the forefront of tsunami relief and rehabilitation operations. A release said the Math had finished building 122 houses in Kerala and the concreting work of 30 houses in Tamil Nadu was over. In the worst-hit Alappad area, the Kerala Government had entrusted the ashram with the task of building 1,400 houses.
