It seemed that a lot of people were struggling with similar issues of attachment, withdrawal, etc. Dear Prajna ~ I have heard of this kind of thing happening to a lot of people. On one tour, my sister kept following around like a puppy, and at one point, Amma turned and gave her a look that blasted her ~ kind of like, who are you and why are you following me around. My sister was devastated. But after awhile, she learned that this is not only Mother's leela, but also her way of teaching us. In my own experience, when I have just been there, open with no expectations, no wanting, that is when Amma showers me with attention, touching my face as she walks by, throwing a Devi Bhava flower bomb right in my face (tee hee), holding me close and calling me daughter, or just noticing me. When I am hungry, in need, with expectations, that is when I get ignored, or once, during darshan, Amma looked at me with the most disgusted look like, what in the world do you want. So, I believe, to some extent, because Mother is part of all of us and knows our hearts, when we are the most open and least full of need, that is when her grace flows to us one way or another; when we are full of need, want desire, lack, she just mirrors that back to us. Amma is a perfect mirror. And even when she is mirroring our own sense of lack, still we really know in our hearts that she loves us.
