Dear Sweta, the musicians at the end of DB were playing qawwali music, a looong

riff on

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's "Allah Hu." It made my heart happy to hear that, because

I love

Nusrat's music and because my spiritual path before meeting Amma was mainly

Sufi.

So, I just visited San Ramon for the first time! Although I didn't have the

opportunity to

connect with anyone from the list, I did connect with a couple of other Amma

devotees

from CA and had an absolutely wonderful time! Also, I was surprised at how many

familiar

faces I saw...which made me feel right at home! I wondered if I'd know

anyone....and was

greeted first in the parking lot by a former NY satsang member (he moved away

last year)

and then a current NY satsang friend while removing my shoes outside of the

temple! One

of the lines coordinators recognized me from NYC and I got to do a couple of

seva shifts,

which felt so nice...although it was an adjustment as some things are different

in CA!

My birthday darshan was wonderful! Amma fed me a chocolate and then she had my

husband and I feed each other chocolates (which hasn't happened since our

wedding

almost five years ago, so that made me really happy!). She gave us each a rose

and me an

apple and both of us a double-darshan! Also, a few people who saw me walking

around

with the apple and the roses were wishing me a happy birthday, which was sweet!

=)

Oh, my husband got such an amazing and long darshan on Friday night! Bhavani and

another woman and Amma were working through a translation of a song (I think "Ma

Jagadambe?") into English and she sang through the entire thing while holding

him! I

almost envied him having that darshan and then I realized that it was even more

special

for me to see him having such a beautiful darshan than it would be to have had

it myself!

I saw the photo of Bala making Amma laugh in the bookstore! It really made me

smile. =)

I wish I could stay for longer than just a week-end...but I feel certain that I

will come back!

The land here is so charged with Amma's energy and it was a real treat for me to

leave the

hall after Devi Bhava and walk out into such natural beauty...such change from

NYC! =)

There was so much love, happiness & joy on peoples' faces after the end of DB.

I hope we

bring this love & happiness to everyone we meet. It was so beautiful

Hi Iswari,

Did you receive the birthday darshan sometime after 3:00AM, during Devi Bhava?

I saw a couple, each holding roses, exit the bookstore's side of the stage. I

thought it was a couple from the east coast whose wedding picture was linked to

the Ammachi list at one time. I was a woman wearing a white sari, a blue scarf

around my neck, almost 5' 7" with very wavy brown shoulder length hair, sitting

or standing in the chairs after exiting the book store's side of the stage.

Thank you for describing the song. It played shortly after my darshan, which

was a very cool time to hear it. The ashram grounds are so charged with Amma's

shakti, that you can feel Her there, whether or not She's physically present.

The Swamini's new book states that Amma said we should be attached either to Her

body, or to an ashram. Amma says the ashram IS Her body.

What an amazing darshan your huband must've had on Friday!

Dear Sweta, yes that was us...with respect to both the 3am Devi Bhava darshan

and the

wedding pictures (although I swear we are not pink, as the pictures seem to

indicate...I'm not sure if it's the lighting, the camera or Amma's shakti that

did that!):

How cool that you saw us, even though we didn't get to meet! Definitely, next

time,

because I really loved it there and hope to have the chance to return someday!
