Dear GeorgeSon ~ thank you for sharing your delightful experiences at the

Tacoma/Seattle retreat. I have a very clear picture of sitting at a table at a

retreat I went to, and the children's table was right next to it. I did not

know about Amma sitting with the children, so it was a special gift to be

sitting so near her and seeing her bhava and play with the children.

LINDAJI, MY ORIGINAL POST WAS OUT OF SEQUENCE. S-O-R-R-Y

 

AMMA HAD A PLATE OF CURRY IN FRONT OF HER FIRST. SHE ATE PERHAPS

FOUR

FORKFULS. NEXT CAME THE PROCESSION OF CHILDREN WEARING COLORFUL YET

VARIED BIRTHDAY STYLE HATS. AMMA FED EACH ONE AS THEY CAME BEFORE

HER

SEAT ON THE TABLE.

 

A PARENT USUALLY ESCORTS THE CHILD. AS EACH CHILD APPROACHES AMMA,

MOTHER PUTS THE DISPROPORTIONATELY LARGE SIZED FLAT INDIAN BREAD

DIRECTLY INTO THEIR MOUTHS. ONE BABY HAD A STRUGGLE GETTING IT INTO

HER TINY MOUTH BUT SEEMED NON-PLEXED. KERALA WOMEN SCRUNCHED UP NEXT

TO ME

O-O-ED AND A-A-H-ED

 

SOME OF THE TINY ONES GOT MINI-DARSHANS. THE CHILDREN'S TABLE IS

ALWAYS

SURROUNDED BY DOZENS OF GAWKERS. THIS IS POSSIBLY WHY YOU WERE UN-

AWARE.

 

PART OF THE FUN IS SEEING THE WIDE SMILES OF THE ONLOOKERS OBSERVING

THE SCENE.

 

WHEN EVERY MUNCHKIN HAD BEEN FED FROM HER OWN HAND HOLY MOTHER ATE

MOST OF HER VANILLA ICE CREAM SCOOP WITH A

LOOK

OF MODERATE RELISH.

 

OVERALL, THE CHILDREN SEEMED SLIGHTLY AWED YET RELAXED.
