I hope you realize, though, that nowhere did I ask anyone for a donation of money, nor would I. Jai Ma ~ Linda
Guest guest
Om Namah Shivaya: Dear Tony: Amma highly recommends that we avoid REACTION and instead RESPOND. I understand how you feel. Why go on this list to be solicited? However I fail to see how one can feel "used" in this particular plea. Amma sits on a chair for thirty years GIVING GIVING AND GIVING. Ammachi barely accepts a meal let alone a day off. Many on this list try (usually unsuccessfully) to emulate Her compassionate example. This Group (when at its best) is an extended family of the Guru. Some on this list have an over abundance of economic means. Those fortunate members are responsible for enacting the power of discrimination to decipher what is worthy of giving and what is not seemingly appropriate. This is just my two centavos. I am not a Yogi believe me. Brother Tony, if someone has the capital and is so inclined what harm ensues to you? My heart twinges when I think of an ardent devotee unable to see their Guru. That is something that needs to be remedied if possible. Ultimately the Grace of the Guru will hold sway. Nevertheless your opinion is to be valued and seriously considered. We need to be alert to unworthy solicitation. However if someone is a long standing member of this list and at wits end endeavoring to enjoy the Holiest of Company; the Guide to their Soul; I pray for them. Guest guest
Dear Tony, I can identify with feeling lonely and used by Amma devotee(s), which can really hurt. Maybe it hurt so much because my expectations were higher of devotees than of the general population. After praying for help, the one & only thing that transformed my feelings, was to see my actions as serving Amma. Then I began to let go of the outcome of "my" actions, & the ensuing emotional attachment. After all that Amma has done for me, my service was insignificant. Maybe this approach will also work well for you. Sweta Tony <ammastony wrote: Thank you for your note. I do understand what you mean and appreciate your candor.
