When, a psychologically disturbed teenager went off the beam and started hitting Peace pilgrim. She just looked at him with the greatest compassion "How could anyone be so disturbed as to hit an old lady?" The compassion touched something deep within him and his life was transformed. In my own case, several years ago when I was still working, I would tell people about Amma, etc. One fellow worker, came in one day with an insulin inbalance( unknown to me and perhaps to himself ). He took exception to something I said and put his large hands around my small neck. Peace Pilgrim's story flashed in my mind and I was at peace come what may. He stopped and later appologized. What I learned from Peace P. is that we should look at those who seem to be trying to hurt us as psychologically ill and actually crying out for help from us. I consider Peace Pilgrim to be the highest American Saint. She left the body in 1981. Amazing how few people know about her. So, why don't we just put the Pope on our compassionate prayer list? Let us skip all the critisizm. Remember, critisizm poisens the environment and comes back to us as critisizm. But perhaps some critisizm was necessary to get the Pope on our prayer list and this story about Peace Pilgrim. May Amma Bless us and Guide us and correct us when we make mistakes, amarnath
