All belongings in a backback, a felony conviction and no home to speak of. Dear Tony ~ there was a person like this when I went to the Rhode Island retreat some years ago. At first, I gave him some money, and then someone warned me that he was always doing this. Amma has no control over people using Her to try and use others. That is why Swami Dayamrita has made very clear guidelines for the Circle of Love letter writing group not to give money to people. This is not what Amma wants us to do. Many personalities surround Amma ~ some are beneficial, some not so beneficial, yet all are out teachers. In all circumstances, even when seeing Amma, we should remember the idea of satsang ~ the company of likeminded people. If there are people who are users, abusers, that is their problem, not Amma's. We have a choice whether to make it ours. I hope you do not let these experiences drive you from Amma, who is only Love incarnate.
