Dear Michelle ~ I have had a number of dreams of Amma, but the one I recall the most vividly happened when I was attending the Rhode Island retreat a number of years ago. Because I am sick, and was then, I have to rest periodically, so, after being at the Hall most of the day, I had to go take a nap. I was worried I would miss Devi Bhava, but then I fell into a deep sleep. In my sleep (though at the time it felt like I was awake, and I didn't realize it was a dream until I really woke up), I could hear the singing at the Hall (which was impossible because my dorm was too far away for me to really hear the singing). Then I heard Amma calling me. I woke with a start, realizing I had just had a dream but that Amma was calling me so I wouldn't miss Devi Bhava. I schooched over to the hall as quickly as I could and got there just in time for Devi Bhava. I was so grateful that Amma called me so I didn't miss this ~ it goes beyond words. By the way, your accounts of Amma "speaking" to you without words, reminds me of the English Bhajan, "Teach me the Language." If you don't know it, it goes through the language of your heart, of your smile, of your eyes, of your light, etc. It does mention the language of "your voice," but I don't think the song is referring to ordinary speech. Thank you for sharing your wonderful accounts of your dreams with Amma. I will be interested to see what others write about this.
