Guest guest
i had this fear of flying from childhood. wen i boarded an aircraft after a long while, for an overseas trip, had this experience... as the plane started started accelerating up the run way, i closed my eyes tight & held on to Amma. around midway, felt like opening my eyes to find that i was sitting in this thing, which was nothing but Amma in the form of the aircraft. from the aisle seat cud see Her wing span. as the plane off, tear drops fell on my shirt & onto the seat, as i felt Amma picking me up like a mother lifting Her child from its cradle. everywhere i looked, wotever i heard, wotever i smelt, wotever touched my skin, it was all Her! the experience perceived thru the senses, the one who experiences & the experience itself all are brahman, says a mantra in the rig veda. this airplane incident was proof of that age-old scriptural statement. lokah samastah sukhino bhavanthu at Lotus Feet, this child - Vipin wrote: Several images came into my consciousness soon after our arrival in India. One was the image of Mother's hand catching and holding the plane. The other image was of my being held, safe in Her arms. Those images will stay with me forever. Dear Vipin ~ what an experience. And Amma was there, protecting all Her children. I remember reading, many years ago, in the version of "Immortal Bliss," whatever it was called before that of this same experience. Maybe it was your story because what stands out in my mind is a drawing of Amma holding up the plane. Since I have a terrible fear of flying, and I want to visit my daughter very much (I am in NM and she is in MD), this story has always given me great comfort. And if your story is the same one I read about, the additional details added in your post were very significant, especially how you were drawn to say your mantra. Sometimes, I hold onto my mantra as if it is a liferaft. I did that when I had my colonoscopy. I think I got to 500 before the anesthesia took me under. I had always wondered how someone could chant their mantra 1,000 or 10,000 times, but after that, now I know. It isn't difficult at all. Bless you for sharing this and reminding me again of Amma's hands, ever reaching out to care for Her children. Jai Ma ~ Linda Aum Amriteswarayai Namaha!
