Dear Aikya ~ I am trying to remember, but it has been six years since I have seen Amma. I think when one goes for darshan, you first bow down to the guru's feet. Aside from that, I did, at one point, though, after the Pada Puja (washing of the guru's feet) have the blessed opportunity to drink some of the water from the feet washing. This may sound a bit strange to some, but in every Amma book I have seen it says: "The holy water that has washed the Guru's Feet, dries the mine of sins, lights the Lamp of Knowledge and helps one cross the ocean of transmigration. It uproots ignorance of the Self, puts an end to rebirth and its cause, actions. One should sip the holy water of the Guru's Feet for Enlightenment and Dispassion." (From "Awaken Children" Part 1). This may sound a bit stranage to some, but for me it was heavenly bliss. After that tour, I was told they no longer allowed people to drink from the platter that held the water from the Pada Puja. It seems that the devotees enthusiasm was so great that some pushing and shoving got started, and they did not want people fighting over the water. But I am so glad that I had my chance.
