Please pray for Monica Sjoo, a woman who introduced many searching

souls in the West to the idea of the goddess. See message from

Dear Motherpeace Friends:

 

Two years ago many of you sent money and support that allowed me to

fly to England and have a last visit with my dear friend Monica

Sjöö, whose groundbreaking book (The Great Cosmic Mother) and

original Goddess art has blessed our women's spirituality movement

in so many ways. Thanks to all of you for those prayers and that

support--and now I write to tell you that our beloved Monica is

making her way to the doorway of death in sinc with the powerful

eclipse cycle inside of which we now find ourselves. (New Moon Solar

Eclipse on April 8th, and a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in two weeks.)

 

Monica beat back breast cancer many years ago, and bone cancer two

years ago, and was able to have a solo art show in Bristol last

year--something that gave her great satisfaction. Now the cancer has

metastasized as a massive brain tumor and it looks as if her time is

short, so I'm writing to ask for your warm thoughts and prayers to

assist her in passing. Light a candle in your heart (or on your

altar) for this great Amazon artist-shaman woman as she passes

between the

worlds to reunite with the two sons who were so tragically taken

from her by accident and cancer. And send special healing prayers to

her remaining son and her grandchildren as they send her spirit

across to the other side.

 

I will miss Monica's big spirit, her dynamism, her fierce love of

the Goddess, and her unceasing advocacy for women and the poor.

Although she has remained an anarchist and incorrigible rebel to the

very end, her illness and the care-giving she received as a result

of it have softened and opened her heart. I am seeing her now bathed

in the love that is being sent to her in waves from around the world

as her life force ebbs--the love and gratitude that she so richly

deserves.

 

Since Monica isn't able to consciously recognize and receive each

person's message and care in a linear way through words and

thoughts, I suggest you send her your message telepathically, and

make prayers for her in whatever way you like to do that. Tune into

her spirit and send your loving thoughts, and that will be enough of

a connection to let her know how much she is valued and to provide

her with whatever healing energies are available for her now.
