Supriti,

many ways,

I had a question regarding this:

" She is so awesome to go to Sri Lanka and make the enemies bow down before

her together...that story just blows me away. There are a couple of

pictures of the female soldiers and how they got darshan from Amma..."

I haven't been following all the posts can you explain...

"We just got the DVD of the tsunami showing what happened that day at the

ashram, oh my what a scene! Watching it made me cry and cry... "

which dvd is this,

you can reply to me off list,,,

blessings, Amma is all of our mother!!!

This refers to Sri Lanka's civil war, ongoing for some

20 years, between the government forces (mostly

Buddhist and Sinhalese speaking) and the Liberation

Tigers of Tamil Eelam (mostly Hindu Tamil speakers),

who are trying to carve an independent Tamil-speaking

country (Tamil Eelam) out of Sri Lanka. Amma hugged

soldiers of both sides. See

http://www.amritapuri.org/amma/2005/502tigers.php

The Tamil Tigers are noted for recruiting women and

children to serve as shock troops. They're openly

supported by much of Canada's large Sri Lankan

community - while the Canadian government looks the

other way. If there were a violent separatist group

in Canada, say Les Tigres de Libération du Québec, and

they were recruiting members and raising funds in Sri

Lanka, do you think the Sri Lankan government would

tolerate it? But Canada, with its lax immigration

policy, is such an easy mark for would-be terrroists.
