Guest guest
Some of you might remember that I posted a wonderful letter from Michael C. Moore back in November. His mother is so thrilled with the change that knowing about Amma has made in him that she wants to learn about Amma. Circle of Love Inside sent her a biography of Amma, a set of Mukti Herte's original (not a translation) 100 Names of Amma in English, and a tape of Om Amriteshvaryai namah. Sweta would like to send her the 108 names in Sanskrit with a tape. Anyway, Michael's mom's interest in prayers inspired me to ask Br. Dayamrita about putting together a prayerbook in English that would be accessible to Americans who may find the Indian languages and culture a barrier at first. He suggested that I put together a sample of what I meant and give it to Sw. Amritasvarupananda who could show it to Amma and explain. Then she could give her blessings and suggestions. So what kinds of prayers would you put in there? I thought of Morning Prayer (Offering My Day to Amma) Prayers at Mealtime Offering the food to Amma Prayer Before Meals Evening Prayer of Gratitude Prayer for Healing Prayer Regarding Work For a New Job For Better Relationships with Coworkers For a Raise Parent's Prayer for Children Prayer for a Spouse Who Loves Amma Prayer for a Happy Family Children's Prayer for Parents for Grandparents for Brothers and Sisters Prayer before Studies Prayer before Competition Prayer When In Danger Prayer Before Travel New Home Blessing Coming of Age Prayers for A Daughter Daughter's Prayer Coming of Age Prayers for a Son Son's Prayer Parent's Prayers At Childbirth At Start of Learning For Good Spouse At Marriage At birth of Grandchild Men's Prayers Women's Prayers At Childbirth At Menopause Any other ideas? I need suggestions for men's prayers. What's a common event not mentioned that could have a prayer. Anybody want to write some of these? We could mention relevant events from Amma's life and/or from Awaken Children in the prayers. Aikya
