Dear GeorgeSon ~ I am not sure how many replies or posts there have been about the tsunami. I am sure all of Mother's children are deeply aware of how hard She is working and about Her promise to raise the money. Someone wrote in last week and asked that the following be added to the prayer list: the need for the government to cooperate with Amma so She can build permanent houses for those now in temporary shelters. Surely, this is very good. Also, I don't know how many people get the Ammachi newsletter and so knew about the web auction that was held on Her website to raise money for the tsunami. I won 3 of the 4 items I bid on. Someone outbid me on a beautiful plate that Amma had actually eaten off of. But I won, for my bids, a charming little vase of silk flowers, a tin candy dish in the shape of a Christmas tree, and a beautiful bowl with a spiral in the bottom, all blessed by Amma. People can still donate money to Amma's relief efforts, and Swami Dayamrita has written and said there is a need for life vests, so money donated at the website can be earmarked for the tsunami relief efforts generally or for the life vests. For information on Amma's tsunami relief efforts, go to this page: _http://www.ammachi.org/humanitarian-activities/get-involved/tsunami-index.htm l_ (http://www.ammachi.org/humanitarian-activities/get-involved/tsunami-index.html) For those who want to donate, here is the web address at Her site: _https://www.mothersbooks.org/donations/make-a-donation.html_ (https://www.mothersbooks.org/donations/make-a-donation.html) I agree that it is very important that we not forget about Amma's efforts in this area. She is still dealing with the initial aftermath of feeding and temporarily housing the 10,000 or so people who were saved when the wave hit Kerala. She is also going to other areas, and everyone knows, I'm sure of her monetary pledge and her offer to take in all the orphans and raise them at Her various Maths. But this effort will require long-term attention from everyone because the rebuilding, I have heard on the news, will take at least a decade. We musn't forget. For anyone who wants to see wonderful, first hand pictures of the tsunami at Amma's ashram as well as pictures of the relief effort ~ beautiful, terribly tragic and hopeful pictures, I recommend the site of Jennifer, an Amma devotee and photographer who was at the ashram when the tsunami hit: _www.jenniferesperanza.com_ (http://www.jenniferesperanza.com) These pictures will bring tears to your eyes ~ tears of sorror, of hope, of joy. Please everyone go and see them. Jai Ma ~ Linda
